Notre Dame's Floyd Gets One-Year Probation For DUI

Suspended Notre Dame wide receiver Michael Floyd pleaded guilty Wednesday to misdemeanor drunken driving and was sentenced to a year of probation. Whether he plays next season remains unclear, according to an Associated Press report. St. Joseph County Magistrate Brian Steinke gave Floyd a one-year jail sentence that was suspended as part of a plea agreement.

Ex-USC Player Lonnie White Admits Taking $14K

Former USC player Lonnie White says he took $14,000 in illegal payments during his four-year career in the 1980s, mostly by selling game tickets allotted to scholarship players. White made the admission Wednesday in a first-person story for The Daily, an online publication. He was a sports writer at the Los Angeles Times from 1987 to 2008. White was a receiver and special-teams player, where he played under John Robinson and Ted Tollner from 1982-86. He went to training camp with the New Orleans Saints before his career ended.

Pitt, Penn State To Renew Rivalry In 2016

Pennsylvania's long-dormant in-state rivalry is set to be revived in 2016, according to an ESPN.com report. Pittsburgh and Penn State have signed a home-and-home agreement for football games in the 2016 and 2017 seasons, the two schools announced on Tuesday. Pitt will host the Nittany Lions on Sept. 10, 2016. The Panthers will play at Penn State on Sept. 16, 2017.

OSU's Fickell Meets With Media, Thanks Tressel

In his first solo moment in the spotlight as OSU's interim coach, Luke Fickell made a point to graciously mention his deposed predecessor, according to an ESPN.com report. He thanked Jim Tressel, forced to resign on May 30 as the heat escalated from an ongoing NCAA investigation, "for the opportunities he's given me, for the friendship and for making me a better coach, husband and father." Still, Fickell only referred to his ex-boss twice in almost 35 minutes before reporters on Monday. And he did make one major break when he said he didn't know anything about any NCAA rules violations under Tressel's watch.

Terrelle Pryor has hired Drew Rosenhaus as his agent and has taken steps toward making himself available for an NFL supplemental draft, according to an ESPN.com report. Pryor's lawyer, Larry James, said Monday that Pryor was in Miami and had signed an agreement with Rosenhaus, a high-powered agent who represents some of the biggest names in sports.

Terrelle Pryor is not interested in playing in the CFL and is focused on the NFL's supplemental draft, Larry James, his attorney, said Thursday. James said he believes Ohio State will provide a letter that will show Pryor would not have been an eligible student athlete moving forward, which should help Pryor in his cause to be eligible for the supplemental draft due to special circumstances.
