Deshaun Watson's disciplinary hearing has dragged out this week without much news on an expected outcome.

However, the Associated Press reports that the NFL "wants to avoid the appeals process -- source said 'a terrible situation for everyone involved' -- so league is more likely to abide by Sue Robinson's ruling if she came back with 6-8 games."

The league would rather settle the situation as quickly as possible, than have the Cleveland Browns quarterback suspended indefinitely and have the NFLPA enter an appeal.

Alvin Kamara is bracing for a suspension of at least six weeks, according to a league source.

Kamara faces felony battery charges, with the next hearing set for August.

The NFL's Personal Conduct Policy provides for a baseline six-game suspension in the event of felony battery.
