Seahawks DL Jarran Reed Suspended Six Games

Jul 23, 2019 8:23 AM

The Seattle Seahawks will be without defensive lineman Jarran Reed for the first six games of the season.

Reed was suspended six games for a violation of the personal conduct policy for an incident from early 2017.

He appealed, but it was denied on Friday morning.

The 26-year-old is coming off a breakout campaign in 2018 in which he compiled 10.5 sacks and 50 tackles in 16 regular-season starts.

NFL Won't Suspend Tyreek Hill For Child Abuse Allegations

Jul 19, 2019 4:53 PM

Tyreek Hill won't be disciplined by the NFL following their investigation into allegations of child abuse.

"Based on the evidence presently available, the NFL cannot conclude that Mr. Hill violated the Personal Conduct Policy," the NFL said in a statement Friday. "Accordingly, he may attend Kansas City's training camp and participate in all club activities. He has been and will continue to be subject to conditions set forth by the District Court, Commissioner [Roger] Goodell, and the Chiefs, which include clinical evaluation and therapeutic intervention."

Following the NFL's announcement, the Chiefs said in a statement that "it is appropriate for Tyreek to return to the team at the start of training camp," which begins July 27 at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph.

The league left open the possibility of revisiting Hill's case should further information come out through police.

Vikings RB Roc Thomas Suspended For Three Games

Jul 17, 2019 9:26 AM

Roc Thomas will be suspended for the first three games of the 2019 season without pay for violating the NFL's policy and program on substances of abuse.

The second-year Minnesota Vikings running back was sentenced to probation in May and received a stay of adjudication.

Thomas, 23, was arrested on Jan. 16 and charged with felony drug possession after Dakota County police officers found 143.28 grams of marijuana (or just over five ounces) in his apartment. Police also confiscated just over $15,800 in cash, a .45-caliber handgun and two handgun magazines.

Martavis Bryant Has Applied For Reinstatement

Jul 16, 2019 8:11 AM

Martavis Bryant has formally applied to the NFL for reinstatement, according to a source.

The league suspended the wide receiver indefinitely in December for Bryant's repeated violations of the league's drug policy.

Bryant, 27, was a fourth-round pick of the Steelers in 2014 but has missed 36 of a possible 80 regular season games because of suspensions.

Since the end of last season, a source said, Bryant has worked with the NFL and the NFL Players Association to address his mental health and put himself in a position where he thinks his application for reinstatement has a chance to succeed.
