Ryan Fitzpatrick Holds Lead For Dolphins' QB Job Over Josh Rosen

Jul 30, 2019 11:12 AM

Ryan Fitzpatrick holds the strong early edge over Josh Rosen during camp with the Miami Dolphins for their starting quarterback job.

"It's pretty clear to me that Ryan Fitzpatrick is leading the way," Brian Flores said. "He's done that in a lot of areas from leadership to production on the field, to the meeting rooms to the walk-throughs. This is an ongoing competition, but right now he's leading the way."

The Dolphins acquired Rosen from the Arizona Cardinals for a late second round pick and a 2020 fifth round pick.

"It's still a competition. Every day is a competition, I think they all know that but as we stand today I think Ryan has done a really job," Flores said. "Hopefully he continues to improve and is consistent and that will help this team for sure."

Golden Tate Suspended Four Games For Taking Fertility Drug

Jul 27, 2019 6:09 PM

Golden Tate has been suspended for four games for violating the NFL's policy on performance enhancing drugs.

Tate said the banned substance was for a prescribed fertility medication. Tate is appealing the suspension.

"This past April, during the off-season, my wife and I decided to see a specialist for fertility planning. I started the treatment prescribed to me and just days later I discovered it contained an ingredient that is on the league's banned substance list," Tate said in a statement. "I immediately discontinued use, I reported the situation to the Independent Administrator of the NFL Policy on Performance-Enhancing Substances, and I spoke with my coaches and general manager. I did all of this well before a failed test was even confirmed.

"Per NFL protocol, an initial suspension was imminent, but myself and the Giants organization are confident in the facts, and eagerly await my appeal to put this behind us."
