Kyler Murray Measures At 5 Feet, 10⅛ Inches, 207 Lbs

Feb 28, 2019 11:35 AM

Kyler Murray measured with a height of 5 feet, 10⅛ inches tall and weighed 207 pounds at the combine. Murray's hands measured 9 4.8 inches.

Murray's measurements have been one of the most important topics at the combine due to questions about whether his size will limit his NFL potential.

Murray's height would also make him one of the shortest starting quarterbacks in the league's history.

Drew Brees was 6-foot-0¼ and 213 pounds at the 2001 scouting combine, while Russell Wilson was 5-foot-10⅝ and 204 pounds at the 2012 combine.

Broncos Want To Have Case Keenum Return As Backup

Feb 28, 2019 8:57 AM

The Denver Broncos have a deal in place to acquire Joe Flacco from the Baltimore Ravens when the new league year begins on March 13.

John Elway can't discuss Flacco, but did say Wednesday that his "preference'' was to get Case Keenum back as the team's backup.

Keenum signed a two-year, $36 million deal last March.

"Well, there has to be an adjustment of the contract, first of all, and that's going to be up to him,'' Elway said. "It will be up to what he wants to do there. As I told him on the phone, we're going to work with him and it's up to him what he wants to do."

Jets Interested In Trading Down From No. 3

Feb 28, 2019 8:34 AM

The New York Jets have interest in trading down from the No. 3 overall pick.

"Right now, we feel good at No. 3, but I'd definitely say if there's an opportunity to trade down, we would absolutely look at it," said Mike Maccagnan.

The Jets traded up from No. 6 to No. 3 last year to select Sam Darnold. New York sent three second round picks to the Indianapolis Colts in the deal. The Jets hope to find a similar trade.

"Yeah, I think I would be open to any team that would," he said, when asked specifically about the Giants. "As long as the trade made sense to us, there's nothing that would stop us from doing that."

Giants Expect Eli Manning To Remain With Franchise In 2019

Feb 27, 2019 12:57 PM

The New York Giants expect Eli Manning to remain with the franchise in 2019.

"Well, I think Eli can help us win games, and he proved when the players around him started playing better that he can play at a very high level and help us win games, so at this point I want Eli back," Pat Shurmur said from Indianapolis. "He's back."

Asked specifically if he expects Manning to be on the team in 2019, Shurmur said, "I fully expect him [back].

"[General manager] Dave [Gettleman] will tell you I'm a body collector. I want to keep all the players we have and add new ones. I really feel that way about Eli," he said.

Manning's cap hit for next season is $23.2 million.

Falcons Plan On Keeping Vic Beasley Jr. In 2019

Feb 27, 2019 11:50 AM

The Atlanta Falcons say "the plan right now" is on keeping Vic Beasley Jr. for the 2019 season.

"I'm very excited about where I think he can go to, and we've had good conversations about the impact that he can make," Dan Quinn said of Beasley. "The biggest impact that he can make is doing it really consistently."

Beasley recorded just 10 sacks over the past two seasons.

"I think it's going to take really good preparation and really consistent play," Quinn said of Beasley becoming an impact player again. "So how do we get him to that? A lot of things are going to come into that. But if I didn't think that he could do it, I wouldn't [commit]. So that's our belief as an organization, to say, 'Hey, man, we believe you can get the job done.'"

Beasley has one year left on his contract after the Falcons exercised his fifth-year option.

Cardinals Don't Sound Entirely Committed To Josh Rosen

Feb 27, 2019 11:34 AM

The Arizona Cardinals used a first round pick on Josh Rosen last offseason, but they may not be entirely committed to him long-term.

“Is Josh Rosen our quarterback?” GM Steve Keim told reporters. “Yeah, he is right now. For sure.”

Kliff Kingsbury is on record of saying he would use Kyler Murray with the first overall pick. But since being hired by the Cardinals, Kingsbury has tried to walk back the comments.

The Cardinals own the first overall pick.
