J.J. Watt Living 'Rocky' Lifestyle In Wisconsin Cabin In Offseason

Jan 30, 2015 6:07 PM

J.J. Watt bought a simple cabin in Wisconsin for his offseason workouts.

"It’s really minimalistic," Watt told the Houston Chronicle. "The only thing I have to focus on is training, and that’s the way I like it. There’s no frills. There’s nothing to distract you up here."

Last offseason, Watt slept on a mattress on his friend's dining room floor while putting himself through two-a-days living what he termed a "Rocky" lifestyle.

Jennings: Everyone Within Vikings Wants Adrian Peterson Back

Jan 30, 2015 6:04 PM

Greg Jennings believes everyone within the Minnesota Vikings wants Adrian Peterson to return in 2015.

“I don’t know if he’ll be back. I can’t answer that question,” Jennings said. “But what I do know is that if he does come back, he’d be accepted with open arms. As an organization from the Wilfs on down, we all want him back. So, I mean, it’s a touchy subject and he’s been the franchise player – face of that team – for eight years. So it will be a loss, a huge loss, if we can’t get him back, and that’s the nature of this business.”

Peterson played in just one game in 2014.

"There's people in the organization that I know hands-down love me," Peterson said in December. "I feel skeptical, of course, but that has been comforting."

Cardinals Confident Of Agreeing To New Deal With Larry Fitzgerald

Jan 30, 2015 5:59 PM

The Arizona Cardinals are confident they will be able to agree upon a restructured deal with Larry Fitzgerald.

"Well last year, we made some changes to his contract to free up some cap space last year that got moved into 2015, so we're right now trying to work with him," Michael Bidwell said. "He and I have had conversations, and after the Super Bowl and all the dust settles, we'll sit down, and I'm confident that we'll get that worked out."

The Cardinals will ask Fitzgerald to take a pay cut from his $15 million salary, which will count $23.6 million against the cap.

"We want to see Larry retire as an Arizona Cardinal several years from now -- it's not going to anytime happen soon, 'cause he's still a great player on the field. I believe this is where he wants to be. It's where we want him," Bidwill said.

York: 49ers Want To Put Kaepernick In Better System

Jan 30, 2015 5:58 PM

The San Francisco 49ers hope to have a more productive offense built around Colin Kaepernick in 2015.

The 49ers promoted Geep Chryst to offensive coordinator this week.

"It's not fixing Kaepernick," Jed York said. "I think Kap is an unbelievable player. He's a young guy that continues to grow and mature, but we all do."

Greg Roman was offensive coordinator of the 49ers last season.

"But with Kap you got a guy in Geep Chryst who knows him better than anybody else," he said. "You have a great guy in Steve Logan that's coming in that's going to work with him on fundamentals and to put a system that's going to put Kap in the best position to make plays.

"How many quarterbacks in this league can run 90 yards for a touchdown? I can't think of many, but you have to put Kap in position where he can make those plays and put Kap in position where we can run the ball. We can throw the ball in ways that allows him to be successful and let him be the absolute stud that he can be on the field, and that's what you're going to see from us next year. Defenses are not going to want to play against us because you're not going to know where we're going to hit you."

Peyton Manning Decision Coming Soon

Jan 31, 2015 11:19 PM

Peyton Manning may announce his intentions for the 2015 season within the next few weeks.

"He's given a lot of thought to it," Archie Manning said during an appearance from the Super Bowl XLIX media center, aired by a Nashville, Tennessee radio station, via ESPN.com. "My advice for him is to go through the process, get away a little bit, let your leg heal, give it a lot of thought and decide what you're going to do ... (I) think he's taken a good evaluation of where he is physically."

Manning has until March 9 to inform the Denver Broncos of his decision.

Nick Foles Expects To Remain Eagles' Starting Quarterback

Jan 30, 2015 8:39 AM

Nick Foles enters the offseason with an uncertain future with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Foles has been the subject of trade rumors while the Eagles have also been linked to trading up for Marcus Mariota.

Foles continues to consider himself the Eagles' starting quarterback.

"I'm still being introduced as that, but then you get asked different questions, the rumors and everything, so that is a part of it," Foles said on NFL Network. "But still getting introduced, and that's, in my mindset, that's where I'm at."

Foles plans on being with the Eagles in 2015.

"It's always about the trade rumors -- that's always the hot topic," he said. "But that's one of those things where you just have to smile about. The only thing I listen to is what (coach) Chip (Kelly) decides, and that's all I care about."

DeMarco Murray: Let's See How Replacing Me Goes For Cowboys

Jan 29, 2015 8:24 PM

The Dallas Cowboys may be forced to replace DeMarco Murray in 2015 at running back, which he believes would be easier said than done.

"I would like to see how it goes," Murray said on NFL Network. "I would like to see how that plan would work for them. I don't pay attention to it. You know, I have full confidence in myself and my ability to do what I'm capable of doing. I know my talents, I know how hard I play and, you know, I know what I bring to the table. So I'm not worried about it and, you know, I don't hear it."

Murray ran for 1,845 yards in 2014.

Murray and Dez Bryant are both free agents and it will be difficult for the Cowboys to keep both.
