Rams Working On Atogwe Deal As Deadline Nears

Jul 31, 2014 11:24 PM

The Rams and safety Oshiomogho Atogwe continue to work on a contract for the restricted free agent, according to a source. St. Louis is still trying to sign Atogwe to a long-term deal. They risk losing him after he didn't sign his restricted tender offer. If the sides don't reach a multi-year deal, then they have until midnight on June 1 to decide whether or not to place a high tender on Atogwe to keep him; otherwise he becomes an unrestricted free agent.

Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss says he isn't close to retirement and is looking to replace his recently-fired agent. "I have no intention of retiring soon," Moss told the Boston Herald. "What I did with firing an agent was, I thought time had run out. There were some things that couldn't be done that needed to be done." Moss also told the Herald that he's looking for new representation. "To all the agents out there, I am a free man! I am looking for a new agent," Moss told the Herald. "I got this football thing under control, but going into my 13th year in the league, I'm still marketable. I'm looking for an agent that's going to get me out there with my marketing ability."

Ndamukong Suh isn't close to signing with the Lions, but the former Nebraska defensive tackle certainly doesn't want to hold out. Suh's agent, Eugene Parker, said the process of closing a deal with a first-round draft pick takes time and that "when there's a sense of urgency by both parties, things get done."
