Moss Declares Media Silence

Oct 31, 2010 11:01 PM

Vikings wide receiver Randy Moss said after the team's loss to the Patriots on Sunday that he won't talk to the media for the remainder of the season. Moss had just one catch for eight yards in his return to New England, the team that traded him to Minnesota four weeks ago. Moss had not spoken to reporters since Oct. 13, taking a $25,000 fine from the NFL for failing to cooperate with the media. "I got fined $25,000 for not speaking to you all. Me, personally, I really don't care," Moss said. "But at the same time, I do answer questions throughout the week. For the league to fine me $25,000, I'm not going to answer any more questions for the rest of this year. If it's going to be an interview, I'm going to conduct [it]. ... I'll ask myself the questions, then give y'all the answers. So from here on out, I'm not answering any more questions for the rest of this season."

Grossman fumbled on his first play, Lions rookie Ndamukong Suh scooped up the football and returned it 17 yards for a touchdown. McNabb was 17-for-30 with 210 yards, a touchdown and an interception before he was benched.

Favre Needs Stitches In Chin, Carted Off

Oct 31, 2010 10:50 PM

Vikings quarterback Brett Favre left the team's loss to the Patriots on Sunday after a jarring hit in the fourth quarter. Favre struggled to get up and needed eight stitches to close a gash on his chin. He had to be helped off the field and was carted to the locker room soon after. He admitted to thinking "what in the world am I doing?" as he was being brought off the field. "Taking a seat at the end of the game is new for me," Favre said. "Going into the tunnel on the cart, [that's what] I thought to myself for a few brief seconds." Favre claims he didn't suffer a concussion.

Jerry Jones Apologizes To Fans

Oct 31, 2010 10:47 PM

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones apologized to fans and asked for patience after the team's loss to the Jaguars on Sunday. "I'm embarrassed. Of course I am," Jones said Sunday. "And, to every fan, I should have and do take the ultimate, ultimate responsibility. I do. That's the way we're structured. That's the way I run it. There's no question that I have the plan and executing it to have the best players and the best coaching that we can have. I'm dumbfounded that we are 1-7." Jones misspoke. The Cowboys are actually 1-6. "You couldn't get me to say it, but you know that I thought we had a team here that could be one of the top competitive teams in the NFL," Jones continued. "I'm very, very, very sorry to our fans. You should have better than this. "You can tell by the way some of the things that we've done to certainly make the Cowboys everything you want them to be, you should be able to tell that I won't rest until we've figured some things out to get us in a different spot. ... What it is, I don't have that."

Brady Wants More Out Of Offense

Oct 31, 2010 10:00 AM

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady wants more out of the team's offense. New England was held to 179 yards in last week's win over San Diego. "There are certainly some things they did that were very challenging for us," Brady said. "At the same time, I'd like to think we can make some of those plays, too. Some days, you have a bad day at the office. ... We did in the first half and we played better in the second half. Hopefully that carries over into this week of practice because we can't have a bad half of football against this team. We have to play 60 good minutes of football."
