Vikings Owner Didn't Think Moss Would Be Traded

Zygi Wilf didn't think that the Vikings were going to trade Randy Moss when he was negotiating to buy the team. "When we were negotiating to buy the team, I had an understanding that [former Vikings owner] Red McCombs wouldn't trade anybody, especially Moss," Wilf told the Star Tribune. "But he did trade him."

Steelers Give Keisel Four-Year Extension

The Steelers have finalized a four-year contract extension with defensive tackle Brett Keisel. The deal will keep him with the team through the 2013 season, and the financial terms were unavailable on Monday afternoon. Keisel has started 42 games over the past three seasons in Pittsburgh. He was entering the final year of his contract and was scheduled to earn $3.25 million.

Brady Expects To Play 'If Coach Lets Me'

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady expects to play this week if coach Bill Belichick allows him to. Brady took a big hit from Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth on Friday night and reportedly left with a sore shoulder. "I have bumps and bruises," Brady said on WEEI in Boston. "It's a physical game. Like I said, I fell a little bit awkwardly, but I'm expecting to be out there and I'm expecting to play this week, if Coach let's me. We'll just see how the week goes." New England will face the Giants on Thursday in their preseason finale.

Chargers Sign Byrd, Acquire Johnson

The Chargers added experienced depth to their defensive line on Monday when they acquired defensive lineman Travis Johnson from the Texans in exchange for an undisclosed 2010 draft choice. San Diego also signed LSU wide receiver Demetrius Byrd, the team's seventh-round choice this year, to a four-year contract. He continues to make progress in his recovery from an automobile accident suffered prior to the draft. In addition, the team waived wide receiver Greg Carr, tackle Dan Gay and wide receiver Rodgeriqus Smith. All three players joined the Chargers as undrafted free agents in May.
