The New York Giants will send a scout to Colin Kaepernick's workout on Saturday in Atlanta.

"All my years being in the league, I never received more emotional mail from people than I did about that issue: ‘If any of your players ever do that, we are never coming to another Giants game,’ " Giants owner John Mara Mara told MMQB in 2017. “It wasn’t one or two letters. It was a lot. It’s an emotional, emotional issue for a lot of people, more so than any other issue I’ve run into."

Mara has previously said he believes Kaepernick still has the ability to play quarterback in the NFL.

“I think he still has some good football left in him,” Mara said. “I agree with that. But obviously there are other issues that go along with him. Is he willing to sit as a backup behind a starter? What’s that going to do with your locker room, with your quarterback room, your offensive room? I believe he’ll be back in the league at some point this year with a team.”
