Rob Gronkowski has significant financial incentive to play against the Houston Texans this weekend.

Gronkowski has been slowed by a groin injury this week and his playing status hasn't been confirmed for Week 3.

The tight end restructured his contract with the New England Patriots this offseason and can earn an extra $5.75 million through incentives this season. He has a base salary of $5 million but can earn the full $10.75 million if he plays in 90 percent of the offensive snaps, or catches 80 passes, or notches 1,200 receiving yards, or is a first team All-Pro.
