In a now deleted article, Tony Grossi accused Bill Barnwell of consulting for the Cleveland Browns.

Grossi works for ESPN 850 WKNR and was a longtime Browns' beat writer.

“Although there is no mention that Barnwell has served as a consultant to the Browns, the circumstantial evidence is that he has, or does,” wrote Grossi.

Grossi cites as evidence a column in December in which Barnell proposed the Browns absorb Brock Osweiler into their cap space.

In a recent column, Barnwell asserted that trading the first overall pick is often the best move. The Browns are widely expected to select Myles Garrett first overall.

Barnwell responded on Twitter:

"Some personal news: I don’t work for the Cleveland Browns or any other team. The consulting work I’ve done for teams in the past predates my time at Grantland."
