The Seattle Seahawks somewhat unusually confirmed that they had discussed a trade involving Richard Sherman.

The reason for the Seahawks' transparency may be because Sherman was the one that approached him about a trade.

"It has been my understanding all along that Richard Sherman was the one who initiated this. He was the one that wanted to be traded initially," said Adam Schefter. "The Seahawks were obliging him and his request."

Sherman had an outburst at Pete Carroll on the sidelines during a game in December this season.
