The New York Jets intend to release Brandon Marshall, according to sources.

Marshall posted a farewell message on his Instagram account Thursday, thanking the Jets organization as well as "the incredibly loyal Jets fans."

The wide receiver turns 33 in March and the Jets are facing a rebuild.

New York has cut ties with Marshall, Darrelle Revis, Nick Mangold, Breno Giacomini and Nick Folk -- clearing more than $45 million in cap space.
