A day after firing Gus Bradley, the Jacksonville Jaguars have confirmed that Tom Coughlin is a candidate to become the team's next head coach.

Coughlin, who coached the New York Giants last season, got his first head gig with the Jaguars.

"Tom Coughlin is someone we'd be interested in talking to," Dave Caldwell said.

"He's got so much experience on myself or any coach we have in this building and he's a great individual, and I think you can always learn from people."

Coughlin went 68-60 over eight years in Jacksonville, with four trips to the playoffs. He went 102-90 in 12 years with the Giants -- including two Super Bowl titles.
