Rob Ninkovich tore his triceps in Tuesday's practice with the New Orleans Saints.

Ninkovich had played in 125 straight games for the New England Patriots at defensive tackle since 2009.

How Ninkovich's injury is managed will depend on the severity of the tear. A less severe injury to just a portion of the triceps could require just rehab and allow a fairly quick progression. A complete tear would require surgery.

Bill Belichick had praised Ninkovich for his consistency, versatility, football intelligence and team-first approach, Ninkovich is also valued for his work setting the edge as a run defender.
