Phil Loadholt is expected to retire pending his meeting with Minnesota Vikings officials on Monday, according to sources.

Loadholt is leaning toward retirement due to soreness in his surgically repaired Achilles tendon as well as other aches and pains. Loadholt's injuries have taken a toll on a player who signed a $25 million extension in 2013.

He will become the 14th NFL player 30 years of age or younger to retire this year.
