Dirk Koetter has emerged as the favorite for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coaching job.

Koetter served as offensive coordinator of the Buccaneers in 2015 and the team's decision to fire Lovie Smith may have been motivated by wanting to keep him.

Koetter was drawing interest from other teams for head coaching interviews, including the Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers.

Koetter was offensive coordinator of the Atlanta Falcons from 2012 until 2014 and previously served as a head coach in college with Boise State and Arizona State.

Jason Licht is heading the search for the Bucs' new head coach.
