K.J. Wright batted the ball out of the end zone after Calvin Johnson's fumble toward the end of the Seattle Seahawks' win over the Detroit Lions.

Wright committed an illegal bat of the ball, which should have given the Lions back the ball where they lost possession.

The Seahawks received the ball as a touchback.

Rule 12, Section 4, Article 1(b) applies the term “illegal bat” when “any player bats or punches a loose ball (that has touched the ground) in any direction, if it is in either end zone.”

An illegal bat is not a reviewable play.
