Joe Philbin has been fired as head coach of the Miami Dolphins after a 1-3 start.

Philbin, 24-28 in Miami since taking over in 2012, became the first head coach in the NFL to lose his job this season.

The Dolphins had high expectations entering the 2015 season, but have been disorganized during their three-game losing streak. The Dolphins have been outscored 91-48 since Week 1.

Dan Campbell will serve as Miami's interim head coach for the remainder of the season. Campbell had been the Dolphins' tight ends coach.
