The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have claimed D.J. Swearinger off waivers.

The Houston Texans released Swearinger after he struggled in 2014.

The 2013 second-round pick played in 32 games the past two seasons, with 22 starts. He totaled 140 tackles, 10 passes defensed and three interceptions with the Texans.

Swearinger will likely start alongside Chris Conte at safety.
