The New York Jets will hire John Idzik as the franchise's new general manager.

Idzik will be the Jets' fourth general manager in the 13 years of Woody Johnson's ownership.

Johnson said last week his plan was to give the next GM the final say on personnel matters, but there's little doubt that Rex Ryan will have a voice.

Idzik wasn't among the first group of candidates to interview for the job, but he emerged quickly in the second round.

Idzik was most recently the Seahawks' vice president of football administration.
