The Pittsburgh Steelers avoided a rare 0-2 start, beating the New York Jets 27-10.

The Steelers held a +4.6 advantage in The Trench Counter, holding a 3.7 edge per play in the passing game. More impressively, the Steelers had a +20 advantage in Total Rushes/Completions.

Ben Roethlisberger went 24-for-31 for 275 yards and touchdowns to Heath Miller and Mike Wallace.

Pittsburgh struggled, however, in establishing their running game against the Jets. Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman each received 12 carries and were held to fewer than 2.5 yards per attempt.

Mark Sanchez was ineffective with 10 completions on 27 attempts and a touchdown.
