Maurice Jones-Drew hasn't reported to Jacksonville's voluntary team workouts, which surprised coach Mike Mularkey.
Jones-Drew is absent because he wants a new contract, according to a CBS Sports report.
Jones-Drew signed a five-year deal in 2009 that will pay him just under $10 million in the next two seasons.
He is currently the eighth-highest paid running back in the NFL, despite leading the league in rushing last season.
