New Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano is making it clear that he'll bench LeGarrette Blount if he doesn't take care of the football.
"I think LeGarrette has tons of ability," Schiano said of the running back.
"No one who touches the football will get touches if they don't protect the football. That is one of our core covenants -- the ball. It's so important they named the game after it. We make a big deal about it."
Blount rushed for 781 yards and five touchdowns last season, but fumbled five times and lost three of them.

After signing Vincent Jackson on Tuesday night, Tampa Bay has also added guard Carl Nicks and cornerback Eric Wright.
Nicks received a five-year, $47.5 million deal, which included $31 million in guaranteed money.
Wright also agreed to a five-year deal, but his is worth less. He'll make $37.5 million over the life of the contract, but just $15.5 million is guaranteed.
