Mar 16, 2024 6:57 PM

Before he was traded from the Chargers to the Bears on Thursday, wide receiver Keenan Allen revealed that Los Angeles had permitted him to explore several options for where he wanted to continue his career after spending 11 seasons with the franchise.

"There were a couple teams that they would allow me, I guess, to say where I wanted to go," Allen said Saturday. "I only had like two teams."

Bryce Huff Joins Eagles With Three-Year, $51.1M Deal

Mar 11, 2024 3:24 PM

The Philadelphia Eagles have added defensive end Bryce Huff in free agency by agreeing to a three-year, $51.1 million deal, according to sources.

In 2023, Huff led the New York Jets with a career-high 10 sacks and recorded 68 quarterback pressures in 312 pass rushes.

Instead of signing him to a long-term deal last year, the Jets gave Huff a second-round tender as a restricted free agent ($4.3 million) and let him play the season for that amount.

Aaron Rodgers is preparing for his second season with the New York Jets in 2024, but he has his sights set on further years as well.

Appearing recently on the Look Into It Podcast with Eddie Bravo, Rodgers discussed his plans for the balance of his career.

"I'm hopeful I can play two or three or four more years, but you need to have some good fortune in there to," Rodgers said.

The quarterback took just four snaps in 2023 thanks to a torn Achilles.

Jets Give Zach Wilson OK To Seek Trade

Feb 29, 2024 8:09 AM

The New York Jets have granted Zach Wilson's agent permission to speak with other teams about a trade.

Wilson's fate with the Jets was sealed at the end of the season, when the team made it clear they would be in the market for a veteran backup to play behind Aaron Rodgers. That sentiment was reinforced recently by owner Woody Johnson, who said, "We need a backup quarterback. We didn't have one last year."

Joe Douglas didn't say whether Wilson requested a trade, although it's no secret that he's looking for a change of scenery. The team told him during the season that it would be willing to accommodate him, sources said.

Jets Owner Takes Shot At Zach Wilson, Puts Heat On Robert Saleh

Feb 9, 2024 8:12 AM

New York Jets owner Woody Johnson had a lot to say on Thursday night at the NFL Honors awards show in Las Vegas.

Johnson, who was speaking publicly for the first time since the team's season ended without a playoff appearance, took shots at Zach Wilson and put pressure on head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas.

"The discussions I've had in the last couple of months, they've seen me about as mad as I can be with what was going on, with the offense particularly," Johnson said. "We have all this talent and we have to deploy talent properly. So I think they all got the message. This is it. This is the time to go. We've got to produce this year."

He added, "We have to do a lot better than seven [wins], definitely."

The Jets are 18-33 under Saleh and 27-60 under Douglas. Their playoff drought is 13 seasons, the longest among the major sports leagues in North America.

Johnson also listed team needs for the offseason. When it was suggested that a backup quarterback should be on the list, he agreed.

"You need a backup quarterback," he said. "We didn't have one last year."

The comment was a clear shot at Wilson, once considered a potential franchise quarterback.

Aaron Rodgers: Jets Need To Flush The B.S. To Win Next Season

Jan 8, 2024 6:10 PM

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, trying to create a winning culture for 2024, offered a few words advice for the organization.

"Flush the bulls---," he said Monday.

Rodgers, responding to a question about what can be learned from the 7-10 season, said the Jets need to eliminate distractions. The four-time MVP, who created headlines throughout the year with his weekly TV appearances on "The Pat McAfee Show" -- most recently last week with controversial remarks about talk show host Jimmy Kimmel -- said the organization must maintain a singular focus to shed its losing ways.
