Minnesota Looking To Add Houston's Rosenfels

The Minnesota Vikings are looking to acquire quarterback Sage Rosenfels from the Houston Texans, according to the Star Tribune.

The team would love to make him the the backup behind Tarvaris Jackson.

They list adding Rosenfels to their roster as priorities even with that of signing wide receiver Bernard Berrian and safety Madieu Williams.

Frazier Named Vikings' Assistant Head Coach

Vikings head coach Brad Childress added the title of assistant head coach to Leslie Frazier?s role as defensive coordinator Wednesday, as reported by the Associated Press.

Frazier interviewed for head coach openings in Miami and Atlanta this offseason, losing out to Tony Sparano and Mike Smith, respectively.

LB Derrick Pope Signs With Vikings

Linebacker Derrick Pope signed a contract with the Minnesota Vikings on Friday, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Pope filled in well for Zach Thomas with the Dolphins last season, posting career-highs in tackles (57) and interceptions (2).

Vikings Strike Deal With WR Ferguson

The Vikings have agreed to terms with wide receiver Robert Ferguson on a one-year deal worth about $1 million, according to John Clayton of ESPN.com.

He started eight games for Minnesota last season, catching 32 passes for 391 yards.

Vikings Could Make Play For Peppers?

The Vikings were nearly $37 million under the NFL's salary cap at the start of free agency and remain $18.6 million under the cap.

If the Carolina Panthers aren't convinced they can re-sign Julius Peppers to a long-term deal, the Vikings could make a play for the defensive end.
