| 14th November, 2008 - 4:52 pm |  ESPN - Jacksonville coach Jack Del Rio cleared up the status of linebacker Mike Peterson on Friday, telling ESPN that he has been permanently demoted to backup status.
"Daryl Smith is our starting middle linebacker," Del Rio said.
Peterson, the team's leading tackler, was suspended for last week's game at Detroit and fined for insubordination after he got into an argument with Del Rio during a team meeting.
"There will be no meetings," Del Rio said. "He has to embrace his new role on the team." [READ] |
