The Lions have traded WR Roy Williams to the Cowboys for a first, third and sixth round pick. The Cowboys also receive a seventh-round pick from the Lions in 2009. The Cowboys, according to ESPN, are attempting to negotiate a long term deal with Williams. Jerry Jones views him as a potential long-term solution as the eventual replacement for aging Terrell Owens, according to another high-ranking Cowboys source that spoke with ESPN. Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that the Eagles also were interested in Williams.
