Lions Undecided At QB
21st October, 2005 - 2:25 am
ESPN - Jeff Garcia dropped back and perfectly lofted a touchdown pass to Scottie Vines in practice Thursday. The Detroit Lions still do not know whether Garcia will have a chance to do the same in Sunday's game at Cleveland.

Coach Steve Mariucci said he was still deciding between sticking with Joey Harrington or switching to Garcia as his starting quarterback.

"I'm not ruling out that it could go up to game time," Mariucci said Thursday. "But we probably will consider something sooner than that."

After sharing practice time with Harrington for the second straight day, Garcia hoped Mariucci would make his decision well before pregame warmups.

"I don't think he should delay it that long," Garcia said. "If Joey is going to start, he needs to let Joey know so that there's not a situation that is left lingering. I think it's important for the offense to know who's going to be the guy out there on Sunday." [READ]
