Source: Alex Smith Could Be Done For Season
7th September, 2008 - 7:39 pm
ESPN - 49ers' quarterback Alex Smith should find out on Monday whether or not his latest shoulder injury will end his season, according to ESPN.com.

Smith was added to San Francisco's injury report Friday after feeling pain in his surgically repaired right shoulder during practice and was in street clothes on Sunday.

The former No. 1 overall pick said the new injury is around the bone, near where Dr. James Andrews repaired his separated shoulder in December. The new injury could "potentially" force Smith to have another season-ending surgery.

"They're trying to figure that out," Smith said. "That's the goal. Hopefully, the films get down to Dr. Andrews [on Monday], and they'll talk and see what's what." [READ]
