| 4th August, 2008 - 12:38 pm | Dallas Morning News - As the Longhorns begin preseason practice on Monday, Mack Brown and his staff are formulating a plan to best utilize UT's top two quarterbacks.
Colt McCoy remains the unquestioned No. 1 after throwing for 5,873 yards and 51 touchdowns over the last two seasons. But Josh Chiles possesses the type of big-play ability that could be a real asset to the Longhorns.
Texas would like to use McCoy at quarterback, and Chiles as something of a wild card ? running pass patterns, taking direct snaps, etc. UT tried the two together at times last season, but nothing gelled.
"We'd like to see if it works," Brown said. "We're really developing that package as we speak. We're going to start working on it immediately to see where it goes, simply because John and Colt are two of our best players and two of our most productive players." [READ] |
