Former Cardinals, CFL Executive Dies

The Arizona Republic - Bob Ackles, a former executive for the Cardinals and the first president and CEO of the CFL's British Columbia Lions, died of a heart attack over the weekend, according to The Arizona Republic.

Ackles was the Cardinals' director of college scouting and assistant general manager from 1992 to 1994.

"(I) enjoyed my time in Arizona, other than one year I spent with (former head coach) Buddy (Ryan, 1994). The other two years were great with Larry (Wilson) and Buges (Joe Bugel). I enjoyed (owner) Bill Bidwill but, as you know, he's different," Ackles said in an interview earlier this year. [READ]
