Chris Tomasson of the Akron Beacon Journal reports: It was appropriate that Zydrunas Ilgauskas was putting up a Christmas tree at his Avon Lake home Sunday when he got a holiday gift.

The phone rang. On the other end of the line was Cavaliers owner Gordon Gund, telling the 7-foot-3 center that he would be activated for tonight's game at Gund Arena against the Detroit Pistons.

The move was made official yesterday when Ilgauskas was taken off the injured list and rookie guard Jeff Trepagnier was shelved with tendinitis in his right knee. When Ilgauskas checks into tonight's game, it will mark his first playing time since suffering yet another broken foot last Dec. 22 at Miami.

``I'll be a little nervous,'' said Ilgauskas, who won't start but figures to play in the first half. ``But I'm excited.''
