Michael Jordan has surrounded himself with mediocrity, but the Heat still cannot beat him. Or anybody else, for that matter. Jordan, who deferred shooting part of the night against Heat double-teams, hit three key late jumpers, pushing the Washington Wizards to an 84-75 win Friday and extending the Heat's losing streak to 11 in front of 20,118, the largest regular-season crowd since AmericanAirlines Arena opened in January 2000. Again, the Heat lost in humiliating and exasperating fashion, squandering a 13-point third-quarter lead and mustering nine points in the fourth quarter on 3-for-21 shooting. By comparison, Jordan hit four baskets in the fourth to finish with 22 points, seven rebounds and five assists. ``When they started taking outside shots, it became clear they were tired,'' Jordan said. The Heat, which had won 11 straight against Washington, scored 26 points after halftime, a team low for either half this season. Miami dropped to 2-13, lost for the seventh straight time at home, and pulled off the difficult trick of losing consecutive nights to the Bulls and Wizards. |
