Eagles Now Looking To Keep Lito?

The Philadelphia Daily News - It appears as though the Eagles now want to keep cornerback Lito Sheppard in town after a month or so of trade rumors, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.

After the signing of free agent Asante Samuel, Sheppard appeared to be the odd man out in the team's secondary.

Soon after the Eagles claimed that he would be traded no later than the draft, but that deadline is now a thing of the past. After claiming they had numerous offers, Philly seemed to change their tune after last weekend.

"We'll see how it goes," Coach Andy Reid said after the first two rounds of the draft came and went without a trade. "There's still some people interested. But he's a good football player. I'm not just going to give him away. That's not what I'm going to do here."

The team could entertain the idea of rotating Samuel, Sheppard, Sheldon Brown, and Joselio Hanson at cornerback this season. [READ]
