Referee: I Almost Sacked Manning

New York Daily News - Mike Carey, the referee that stood just a few feet away from the play that turned the tide for the Giants against the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII, told the New York Daily News that he nearly signaled a sack on Eli Manning as he was engulfed by several New England defenders.

He told the Daily News that his "radar was definitely up" when Manning was surrounding by a handful of defenders with just a minute or so left in the game "because I knew a sack, or at least grasp and control, was imminent," he added. [READ]
