Lucious Harris was distracted this afternoon, wanting to rush home from Nets practice to spend an extra hour with his week-old son, Lucious III, before flying on the team charter.

"All of it upsets me, but it's our job," Harris, a Nets backup guard, said. "I wish we could bus to Indiana, but we have to fly."

In the hours after the crash of American Airlines Flight 587, fear resurfaced on different levels today for the Nets' players and coaches. Uncertainty immediately supplanted those other concerns about Reggie Miller and Jalen Rose and Tuesday night's game against the Indiana Pacers. "The big thing is, how much can New York take?" point guard Jason Kidd said. "Not just so much New York, but how much can our country take?"
