Elden Campbell has been around the league for a long time. 12 seasons to be exact, over which he has had his ups and downs. But since coming to Charlotte along with Eddie Jones, who has since departed, for then All-Star Glen Rice, who has since departed the Lakers and the Knicks, since landing in Houston with a tarnished reputation, most of his time has been up and up. 2001/02 has been no exception.

Even though his season is only six games old, Campbell is averaging 14.2 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.67 blocks per game, and 73.5 percent free-throw shooting - all of which are on a career-high pace, or close to at least.

His biggest knock has been consistency, which is something that both he and Paul Silas have been aware of, making it a focal point of his improvements. "I always want to be consistent," he said.
