Packers' McCarthy Likely To Get Extension Before Super Bowl
8th January, 2008 - 9:20 am
Packers News - Now that the Green Bay Packers have signed General Manager Ted Thompson to a five-year contract, they hope to have an extension in place for Coach Mike McCarthy within a month.

Even if the Packers make a deep run into the playoffs, they expect to sign McCarthy to a contract extension before the Super Bowl.

"I think it would be done before that time," Packers' Chairman Bob Harlan said on Monday. "Mike and Ted are still talking, and I would say it's going to go on a little bit longer. Harlan on Monday announced Thompson had signed a contract that runs through the 2012 season. The deal replaces Thompson's five-year contract he signed when he was hired on Jan. 14, 2005. [READ]
