Lamond Murray continues to establish himself as a go-to player. Chris Mihm finished with a season-high in points. And the Cavaliers had a chance at the end.

None of it mattered.

"Murray was great during the fourth quarter," said Cavs coach John Lucas after the Cavs lost to the New Jersey Nets yesterday, 87-84. "He really stepped up. He's getting himself into great shape. Mihm came up big, especially after being sick. But it isn't any good because it's still an L."

Jason Kidd scored seven of his final 10 points during the last two minutes to rally the Nets over the Cavs before 5,631 fans at Continental Airlines Arena.

Murray led all scorers with 21 points. Mihm followed with 20 and Andre Miller had 19. Kenyon Martin led the Nets (5-1) with 18 points and Kerry Kittles had 17.
