The Heat's NBA-record 594-game three-point streak ended Saturday. And that's the least of Miami's concerns after its third sluggish, sloppy performance in six games. Falling behind 12-2 early and 49-31 at the half, the Heat never fully recovered in a dismal 90-75 home loss to a Sacramento team playing without injured star Chris Webber. ``We stunk it up,'' guard Eddie Jones said. Chris Gatling (12 points) entered for the first time this season with the Heat down 20 in the third quarter and helped trim the deficit to seven early in the fourth. But the Kings then scored nine straight. ``That was an absolutely horrendous game on our part,'' said coach Pat Riley, who was knocked to the floor by Doug Christie when the Kings' guard scrambled for a loose ball in the fourth quarter. ``There wasn't anything good about it.'' Miami (2-4) lost point guard Rod Strickland, who re-aggravated a hamstring injury in the second quarter. ``I wanted to give it a shot, but they felt I shouldn't,'' Strickland said. |
