For a team of veterans that came within one game of the Eastern Conference finals last season, the Charlotte Hornets still have plenty to learn. According to head coach Paul Silas, that includes learning how to win all over again.

A refresher course was needed in the final 3:45 Thursday night in the Charlotte Coliseum. Up 95-92, the Hornets didn't score another point, and the San Antonio Spurs went on a 13-0 run to win 105-95.

The Hornets clanked a couple of shots, took a couple more that were ill-advised and had a couple blocked, while the Spurs did everything right on their end.

"We had point blank shots we just didn't make," Silas said. "You have to give them credit, but I don't think their defense had anything to do with what happened."

David Wesley, who otherwise had a quiet night, hit a 3-pointer with 3:45 left to put the Hornets up 95-92, and they got the ball back with the lead.
