There's no time like the present for the Hornets, who need a jump-start after tripping from the gate with a 2-3 record. Yet given their slow start and today's opponent, there are no guarantees.

The Hornets hit the road again, where they've lost twice already, visiting the Chicago Bulls at 8:30 p.m. at the United Center. But before you start thinking this should be a no-sweat affair, consider this:

While the Bulls lost three of four to Charlotte last season, they never went away despite the sharp difference in talent, taking the Hornets to three overtimes before losing one game, coming within a point in another and by eight in a third. They won the other by three in overtime.

So despite their 1-4 record and a Thursday night disaster at Minnesota (a 127-74 drubbing), this may be more of a game than it's cracked up to be.

"Chicago is the team that gave us the most trouble last season," Hornets guard David Wesley said. "They probably should have beat us every time we played. So if that is not enough of a reminder for us to get ready, I don't know what is."

The Hornets will be facing one and possibly two of their former reserves. Brad Miller, once a backup to starting center Elden Campbell in Charlotte, starts for the Bulls. Eddie Robinson, a former Hornet who signed a free-agent contract with Chicago last summer, may come off the injury list (fractured big toe on left foot).
