Cortez Hankton Undergoes Surgery On Ankle

ESPN - Receiver Cortez Hankton had surgery on his right ankle Friday and will miss several weeks.

Hankton, who has 26 catches for 247 yards in two seasons with the Jags, was slowed by what the team called a high ankle sprain during the preseason. He had been listed as questionable for Sunday's opener against Seattle.

"Doctors determined [surgery] was necessary, that rest was not going to make it better," coach Jack Del Rio said. "It's a simple procedure to allow him to get back in a few weeks without the continuing pain." [READ]
