| 14th December, 2007 - 9:03 am |  ESPN - Quarterback Chris Redman, who threw for a career-best 298 yards in the Monday night loss to the New Orleans Saints, will remain the Atlanta Falcons' starter for Sunday's game at Tampa Bay and possibly for the rest of the 2007 season.
Interim head coach Emmitt Thomas, who replaced the departed Bobby Petrino, did not feel a change was in order. Petrino had switched starting quarterbacks five times in the previous seven games.
"He had done some good things at times, and he'll be the guy," Thomas said.
Redman, 30, completed 23-of-40 passes for 298 yards, with two touchdown passes and two interceptions in the 34-14 loss to the Saints. The completions, attempts and yards all represented new career highs. The start was Redman's first in a regular-season game since Oct. 20, 2002, when he was playing with the Baltimore Ravens.
