5th December, 2007 - 8:57 am
ESPN - Auburn Coach Tommy Tuberville agreed to a two-year contract extension Tuesday that includes a $200,000 annual raise and ends speculation that he might leave for another job.

The extension of the contract makes it a six-year agreement, worth an average of 3.3 million annually through 2013.

"We're very pleased with the success, hard work and efforts of Coach Tuberville and his staff," Auburn Athletic Director Jay Jacobs said in a statement released by the school. "Tommy and I worked patiently though this process and did what was best for Auburn. He has not only achieved success with a winning program, but has student-athletes that graduate and represent Auburn in the finest manner."

Tuberville, who was in New York for National Football Hall of Fame functions, told The Birmingham News and The Huntsville Times that he and AD Jay Jacobs reached an agreement that will run through the 2013 season. They completed the deal Tuesday afternoon in a meeting at his hotel. [READ]
