Illinois To Give Ron Zook An Extension

Chicago Tribune - After engineering a major turnaround in the Illinois football program, coach Ron Zook is about to be rewarded with a contract extension through the 2012 season.

The university's board of trustees will be asked to approve the deal at its Wednesday meeting. Zook's original deal, signed in 2005, goes through the 2009 season.

The contract calls for Zook, currently making $1.055 million per season, to get a raise that would hit 43 percent if Illinois goes to a bowl game. [READ]
