Dunn Keeps Falcons Starting Gig

Journal-Constitution - Despite playing only 14 plays this exhibition season, running back Warrick Dunn will start the season opener against Minnesota on Sunday.

Dunn, who had offseason back surgery, played only in the third exhibition game.

"One thing is that Warrick has been there for a long time, and the rust will come off quickly," Falcons coach Bobby Petrino said after Wednesday's practice.

Dunn has led the Falcons in rushing the past three seasons and is seeking his fourth consecutive 1,000-yard season. He is 76 yards from overtaking Jamal Anderson as the franchise's third all-time leading rusher.

"Right now, I feel good about where I'm at," Dunn said, "where my conditioning is at." [READ]
