Dolphins Undecided On Kick Returner

Miami Herald - So maybe running back Ronnie Brown won't be returning kicks after all. And maybe wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. will.

Then again, it's growing difficult to decipher much of what is happening in Dolphins training camp lately.

On Saturday, during his first news conference since the exhibition game against Kansas City, coach Cam Cameron backed off initial comments made Thursday night that running backs Brown and Jesse Chatman would be the team's kick returners.

When asked after the game why he used Brown and Chatman as returners on the opening kickoff, Cameron said: ``That'll probably be our return unit. We want to focus with Ted on the punt returns because obviously that takes a lot of work.''

Cameron's decision drew immediate questions about why he would put Brown at such a risk of injury and not use Ginn, who apparently was drafted with the ninth-overall pick to return kicks.

But when the subject came up again after practice Saturday, Cameron attempted to clarify his plans. ''That statement only applied to that game,'' Cameron said. [READ]
